« An additional cornerstone for the City of Dudelange »

In view of the current situation and the climate crisis, the launch of the Innovation Hub, an incubator specialising in eco-technologies in Dudelange, was “the right decision”, says Mayor Dan Biancalana.

Today, environmental issues are at the heart of our concerns.

This is why Green Tech is gaining in popularity with both citizens and entrepreneurs. Not only is the field of eco-technology essential to solving the challenges of global warming, it is also a real opportunity to stimulate the economy and create jobs.

Dudelange: at the heart of the city of tomorrow

Since 2018, Dudelange has been hosting an incubator specialising in the innovative field of green technologies. An opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop and test their start-up locally and on a larger scale.

It all started with 3 start-ups, the incubator now has 11 start-ups. A pool of talent that promotes the creation of more and more jobs in the region.

Concerned about climate change and the ecological chaos we are facing, Dudelange has joined forces with Luxinnovation and Technoport entrepreneurship experts’ to create an incubator specialised in eco-technologies. With the support of Luxinnovation, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to participate in conferences and to meet investors and potential customers.

Innovation Hub - Dan Biancalana

Innovation Hub: an opportunity for many innovation pioneers

The idea of establishing a start-up incubator in Dudelange quickly became obvious to Mayor Dan Biancalana:

“DUDELANGE IS A FORERUNNER IN THE FIELD OF GREEN TECH. WHEN WE THINK ABOUT THE CLIMATE CRISIS, AND ULTIMATELY, ABOUT ALL THE CRISES WE ARE CURRENTLY FACING, LAUNCHING THIS HUB FIVE YEARS AGO WAS A GOOD DECISION”.

A successful move for Dudelange

On September 23, 2022, Dan Biancalana expressed his enthusiasm on the Innovation Hub’s open day: “The incubator constitutes an additional pillar for Dudelange, in addition to industry, logistics and health (LNS)”, fields that are already well represented in the Dudelange territory.

Furthermore, the Innovation Hub is a real opportunity to welcome a large number of young talents and thus create jobs.

Dudelange: a key partner for the Innovation Hub’s start-upsb

Putting the spotlight on entrepreneurs and supporting their projects are among the major objectives of Dudelange.

WE WANT TO GIVE START-UPS THE OPPORTUNITY TO “TEST” THEIR PRODUCTS ON THE TERRITORY OF OUR CITY IN ORDER TO ADAPT THEM ON A LARGER SCALE LATER ON”, SAYS DAN BIANCALANA.

What does the future hold for the Innovation Hub?

The incubator will be an integral part of the future Neischmelz eco-district. The aim will be to accommodate a large number of people without having a negative impact on the environment.

AS DAN BIANCALANA REMINDED US: “ECO-TECHNOLOGY IS A REAL NICHE IN LUXEMBOURG, AND DUDELANGE HAD TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE EFFORT OF THE START-UP NATION”.

One thing is for sure: the Innovation Hub is growing and does not intend to stop there.
