WeThink is on a mission to change the perception of those who think that technology and ecology do not mix. Because yes, the two are compatible! That’s what Luc Schmit, one of the brains behind the startup located at the Innovation Hub in Dudelange, explained to us.
To change mentalities, this Dudelange native is not alone, since he has surrounded himself with 3 friends for this project: “Tim and I are in charge of consulting and marketing; Max is in charge of IT development, while Andy is involved in the social sectors”.
In concrete terms, their joint work takes the form of applications. At the moment, they are working on two projects. “One is about food waste. This app is aimed more at the private sector. The second project is based on circular energy. It is more aimed at the public sector.”
Soon, WeThink will also offer a new service: “We have decided to specialize in eco consulting. The idea is that a company can come to us and ask for help in solving a problem it has, such as a loss of energy. Depending on its budget, we will propose solutions from partners with whom we collaborate”.
Silicon « Dudelange » Valley
As Luc Schmit mentions, a startup is synonymous with sacrifices: “You have to work 16 hours a day, without earning much money. But embarking on this adventure is clearly a source of satisfaction. And you are constantly learning: circular energy, for example, I had to study the subject, to see how it worked”.
As an entrepreneur, but also as a citizen of Dudelange, he sees the Innovation Hub in a very positive light: “Being here is a real opportunity. It can only increase the dynamism of the city… And why not make it the Silicon Valley of Luxembourg? In any case, with the other companies here, we want to create synergies, to advance eco-technology and also, perhaps, to create a label”.
